project based environment Scilutions can draw on substantial
electronics system design, project management, commissioning and
also man management experience. Available to carry out short term
projects or to provide specialist engineering advice in the

- Computer/plant interfacing and data acquisition (IBM PC
and CAMAC)
- Central and distributed process control
- High power RF amplifiers (5 kW to 1.5 MW, 25 MHz to 500
MHz)
- RF cavity design (including structural, fabrication and
heat flow issues)
- Synchrotron, accelerator and Tokamak physics
- Discrete logic, PLD and FPGA design, VHDL, Z80 programming
- Wire and reflector antenna design
- Radio propagation studies
- Design to Electrical Standards IEC1010, IEC204 and IBM
non-product standard
- Design for EMC
- Large super-conducting magnet power supplies and quench
detection
- Use of software tools including circuit simulators,
Mathcad, Matlab, Autocad, Orcad, DWL and Microsoft Project
- Software design and support - C, C++, Fortran 77, Visual Basic
- Ultra high vacuum techniques
- Cryogenic instrumentation
- Electron beam diagnostics
Management and Commercial
- System specification, preparation of technical
specifications and contracts for Calls for Tender
- Planning and delivering and/or co ordinating in-house and
customer training
- Contract supervision (values ranging from £10k to over
£1M)
- Project Management and application of Microsoft Project
for project planning, resourcing and control
- Project budgeting and cost control (development budgets
in excess of £300k)
- Evaluation of prospective projects for margin and long
term business potential
- Familiarity with the requirements for CE marking
- Preparation of and gaining consensus for ISO9001
