Key word search engines

Foto Search Image Search Engine allows users to search from over fifty top stock photography and image sources all at one site
Picsearch - the search engine for pictures and images
Phibot  special search engine for maths and science
Turbo10 Metasearch Engine results are organised into separate topics in a pull down menu 
Internet Archive Wayback searches through billions of archived Web pages, giving you a chance to look at shut down Web sites 
Scirus, a powerful new search engine for locating scientific information, indexes complete documents, searches the whole web including access-controlled sites, and reads non-text files like PDF (some of the hits may require a subscription to access the information)
BoardReader locates information in the Web's forums and message boards (information that most search engines do not retrieve)
IXQUICK metasearch site allows you to use boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT), quoted phrases,  plus, minus, and wildcards.  Most metasearch tools do not handle complicated search terms well.  Unfortunately it does not query Google, which is too bad because Google is one of the best search engines. (Apparently Google requires that metasearch tools pay a licensing fee)

MailCast and Sitemap I
SiteMap is a great online tool which puts out an interactive map (hierarchical table of contents) of any site. This is nice since it may allow for an easier means. Mailcast provides the option of subscribing to various pages of a mapped site in order to have a notification sent by email when a change has been made of navigating through your favorite site and eliminate unwanted download time due to graphics.
